Job Overview

Available Positions & Qualifications

1. Technical Officer (ICT) Grade III

• Salary Code & Scale: U-MT 1(III) – Rs. 51,435 - 6 × 640; 10 × 640 - 69,925 p.m. (Plus UGC-approved allowances)

• Age Limit: 18 to 45 years.

• Qualifications: Passed three (3) subjects at the G.C.E. (A/L) examination in one sitting in any stream; AND obtained a certificate of proficiency not below NVQ Level 5 in Information Communication and Multimedia Technology / IT or equivalent from a TVEC-accepted institute. (Work experience in ICT is preferred).

• Selection Method: Written and/or practical test and an interview.

2. Technical Officer Grade II, Seg. "B"

• Salary Code & Scale: U-MT 1(III) – Rs. 51,435 - 6 × 640; 10 × 640 - 69,925 p.m. (Plus UGC-approved allowances)

• Age Limit: Not more than 45 years.

• Qualifications: Three (03) G.C.E. (A/L) passes in Biological Science, Physical Science, or Technology streams in one sitting; AND passed a skill-oriented formal full-time training program of at least one year duration relevant to the post.

• Selection Method: Practical test and interview.

3. Craft Demonstrator Grade II

• Salary Code & Scale: U-MN 1(III) – Rs. 49,475 - 17 × 540 - 58,655 p.m. (Plus UGC-approved allowances)

• Qualifications: Experience in fields such as Foundry Practice, Welding & Smithy, Machine Tools, Pattern Making, Sheet Metal Work, Carpentry, or Metal Work. Must possess a minimum of 15 years of experience as a skilled craftsman in university/government/recognized service, OR at least 3 years of experience in a skilled special grade post.

• Selection Method: Practical test and interview.

4. Machinist Grade III

• Salary Code & Scale: U-PL 3(III) – Rs. 48,005 - 16 × 490 - 55,845 p.m. (Plus UGC-approved allowances)

• Age Limit: 18 to 45 years.

• Qualifications: Obtained a proficiency certificate not below NVQ Level 4 relevant to the function of the post issued by a TVEC-accepted institute.

• Selection Method: Trade test and structured interview.

Remuneration & Benefits

• Provident Fund & Pension: Employees contribute 10% of their salary to the Universities' Provident Fund (UPF). The employer contributes 15% (8% to the Universities' Pension Fund and 7% to UPF).

• ETF: 3% contribution by the University to the Employees' Trust Fund.
